W@W Empower – Empowering Women in Workforce and Entrepreneurship
India, despite experiencing growth in job opportunities, is witnessing a concerning trend of decreasing female
labour force participation. The labour force participation rate (LFPR) among Indian women has witnessed a substantial decline from 42.7 percent in 2004-05 to 23.3 percent in 2017-18. 1 Shockingly, this implies that
approximately three out of every four Indian women are neither engaged in paid work nor actively seeking
employment.
To address this issue, KDEM under its W@W Initiative recognizes the need to promote career opportunities
for women in emerging clusters and provide a platform for knowledge-sharing and networking. By
highlighting success stories and empowering women through entrepreneurship development.
