INTRODUCTION

  1. The government of Karnataka established the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM) with the support of industry associations. Our key objective is to create a knowledge bridge between the Government and industry to accelerate the growth and investments of the IT, ESDM, and S&T sectors in Karnataka, with a focus on the core verticals, viz., IT Products and services, BPM and GCC Promotion, Innovation and start-ups, ESDM (Electronics Systems design and Manufacturing), Beyond Bengaluru, and Talent Accelerator.

    At KDEM, we have been anchoring and facilitating various initiatives and programs for the state government, especially the Department of IT, BT & ST, Govt of Karnataka, to boost the prevailing ecosystem.

Purpose:

  1. The Vice President/Assistant Vice President of Startup & Innovation at KDEM is responsible for accelerating the growth and development of Karnataka’s startup ecosystem through strategic partnerships, policy initiatives, and program management. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will lead efforts to support tech-based startups in Karnataka by addressing critical industry bottlenecks, ensuring state compliance and regulations are met, and developing a growth roadmap aligned with KDEM’s objectives. Key initiatives include fostering partnerships with global and national accelerators, venture capitalists, and angel investors and creating an innovation corridor that positions Karnataka as a leading startup hub. This role will also focus on supporting startups in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, building robust frameworks for tracking progress, and offering a single-window resource platform to streamline startup interactions with essential stakeholders.
