The Indian School of Business s startup accelerator DLabs has launched a new programme called Build for Billions in partnership with the Reserve Bank Innovation Hub (RBIH) and Union Bank of India. The programme is designed to help startups that are working to address the financial needs of the informal economy, which includes gig workers, migrant workers, domestic workers, street vendors, and other groups.

Interested startups can submit their application under the themes namely: Agriculture Fintech and Insurtech for small and marginal farmers, Innovative solutions for Indigenous groups, tribal communities and Assistive technology and solutions. Some of the startups will also be supported with seed grants.

PedalCircle also aims to differentiate itself by focusing on community building, an overlooked aspect. Participants get to engage intensively at the Innovation Hub for the duration of the program. This leads to strong personal bonds developed from shared experiences and war rooms, enabling them to learn collectively, avoid potential mistakes, and form a strong long term founder relationship that lasts well beyond the program itself, they added.
