Karnataka Backs Mangaluru’s Workspace Ecosystem with ₹1.93 Crore Grant Under Beyond Bengaluru Mission
Karnataka has taken a significant step in strengthening its regional innovation ecosystem by releasing a grant of ₹1.93 crore to Vertex Workspace in Mangaluru under the state’s Beyond Bengaluru mission. The funding marks one of the first and largest support initiatives extended to a managed workspace operator outside Bengaluru, reinforcing the government’s focus on decentralising growth and building strong technology and enterprise hubs across Tier-2 cities. The grant was facilitated by the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM), which is spearheading the state’s strategy to expand the digital economy beyond the capital.
Karnataka Approves ₹6,350 Cr Data Centre Investment Proposals
Karnataka has attracted new industrial investment proposals worth ₹1.53 lakh crore in the 11 months following the Global Investors’ Meet (GIM) held in February last year, Minister for Large and Medium Industries M B Patil said on Saturday. The investments are over and above the commitments secured during the GIM. Ahead of his visit to the Davos economic summit as part of a high-level state delegation, Patil said the government’s investment outreach was a continuous process and not limited to the investors’ meet. He said leading companies had shown interest in sectors, including manufacturing, renewable energy, data centres and global capability centres (GCCs). The proposals are expected to be submitted to Karnataka Udyog Mitra shortly, after which approvals will be processed expeditiously. Of the total proposed investments, ₹66,293 crore is in manufacturing and industry, ₹20,913 crore in wind and solar power generation, ₹12,500 crore in GCCs, and ₹6,350 crore in data centres, he said.

146 startups get Rs 38 cr grant under K’taka Govt’s ELEVATE programme
The startups that were rewarded under ELEVATE programme, included 103 ELEVATE 2025 winners, 33 ELEVATE Unnati (which supports start-ups by the SC/ST community) winners and 10 ELEVATE Minorities (empowering entrepreneurs from Minority communities) 2025 start-ups with a total committed grant of Rs 38.85 crores.
