Overwhelming participation from TG, AP for Al Buildathon

Over 900 students from Hyderabad and about 500 from Vijayawada qualified for the State-level qualifiers of the OpenAI Academy x NxtWave Buildathon. The buildathon is a pre-summit event affiliated with India-AI Impact Summit 2026 to be held in February, a flagship global gathering hosted by IndiaAI Mission. About 100 finalists have advanced to the pre-summit event.

In the absence of a dedicated AI law, these guidelines represent a pragmatic step towards anticipatory governance, one that seeks to manage risks without sti-fling innovation. Rather than replicate Western models of precautionary regu-lation, India is crafting a homegrown framework that aligns trust, innovation, and inclusion as mutually reinforcing principles. At the heart of this new archi-tecture are the seven guiding sutras, or principles – trust, people-first design, innovation over restraint, fairness and equity, accountability, understandable by design, and safety, resilience and sustainability.

Ahead of the Bengaluru Tech Summit, a high-level Russian trade delegation met Karnataka IT Minister Priyank Kharge on Wednesday here to explore opportunities for tech collaboration with the state, officials said.

The delegation, composed of senior officials and representatives from leading Russian IT and technology firms, will explore opportunities for technology collaboration between Russian and Indian companies in Electronic Design Automation (EDA), Smart City Technologies, and Digital Engineering Solutions, they said.
