Under this mission, local industry champions take ownership of driving the mission objectives so these local industry players and their partnerships with big companies play an important role in determining the strategy of that region. One such example is the Spoke-shore Strategy where a hub of a company can be anywhere, but the spoke can be in the Clusters. KDEM is also in a mission to accelerate startups for which we are setting up a center of excellence and creating sector-specific edge in these clusters –
Mysuru – Cyber security edge, Metaverse
Mangaluru – Fintech edge, Healthtech edge and AVGC edge
Hubballi-Dharwad-Bellagavi – AI hub, Agritech, Drone and EV Design and Manufacturing.
These edges create a talent supply for the region, attract businesses to set up business operations, and paves the way for inviting a lot of start-ups to develop products and various innovative service models on these technologies. In addition to this, KDEM is driving Govt of Karnataka’s initiative of setting up the Beyond Bengaluru cluster seed fund of Rs. INR 25 Crores in each of these 3 clusters and to boost the startups of these clusters, Karnataka Acceleration Network is set up.
