From diagnostics to semicon, nanotech goes commercial
Mangaluru-based biotech startup Papersens is developing non-invasive diagnostic tests using gold nanoparticles and graphene quantum dots to detect diseases through urine, sweat and saliva samples. Its lead product targets the early detection of leptospirosis. The startup has completed trials involving 250-300 patients, secured a manufacturing licence and plans a pan-India clinical study before commercial launch.
