THE state government on Sat-urday announced ELEVATE NxT and a Rs 75-crore Beyond Bengaluru Cluster Seed Fund, as a push to deepen and decen-tralise the state’s startup ecosystem.
The Karnataka govt has recognised 146 start ups under its flagship Elevate 2025 programme, extending Rs 38.8 crore in grant support to early-stage ventures, underscoring the state’s continued push to strengthen its startup ecc system. Of the selected start ups, 43% are women-lec while an equal proportion are based outside Bengaluru, reflecting a focus on inclusive and regionally balanced entrepreneurship.
The year 2025 was the ‘year of solar’, when India’s solar power sector broke many records. Now, 2026 is likely to go down in history as the ‘year of energy storage’ — because recent developments in battery energy storage systems (BESS) offer some important cues.
With the ambition of giving a stronger boost to entrepreneurship over the next five years, setting up 25,000 new startups in the state, and developing Karnataka as a global innovation hub, the state government has formulated the ‘Startup Policy 2025–2030’, said Minister Priyank Kharge.
US firm Blackstone has finalised a structured investment in Mumbai-based Al cloud startup Neysa, initially putting in $50-75 million. The deal allows Blackstone to increase its stake to a controlling position if certain business milestones are met. Neysa was last valued at $120-130 million, and has raised $50 million in funding across two rounds till now.

The Government of Karnataka, through its Department of Electronics, IT & BT, today announced the release of one of the largest grants from Beyond Bengaluru mission to Vertex Managed Workspace, Mangaluru, marking a major milestone in the state’s mission to build strong technology hubs beyond Bengaluru.
The announcement was made by Shri Priyank Kharge, Hon’ble Minister for Electronics, IT & BT, Government of Karnataka & its department & Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM), and Mr. Gurudatta Shenoy, Managing Partner, Vertex Managed Workspace.
The ₹1.93 crore grant, issued through the Department of Electronics, IT & BT, is aimed at supporting coworking and enterprise-grade managed workspaces outside Bengaluru, signalling a sharper focus on regional execution, not just policy intent.

Karnataka has attracted new industrial investment proposals worth ₹1.53 lakh crore in the 11 months following the Global Investors’ Meet (GIM) held in February last year, Minister for Large and Medium Industries MB Patil said on Saturday.
The investments are over and above the commitments secured during the GIM.
Over one lakh individuals have enrolled in India’s chip design training programmes, with around 67,000 already trained so far, according to the government. The initiative is being driven by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) to strengthen India’s capabilities in semiconductor design.
With the ambition of providing greater encouragement to entrepreneurship over the next five years and developing Karnataka into a global innovation hub, the state government has unveiled the new Startup Policy 2025–2030, said Information Technology and Biotechnology Minister Priyank Kharge.

The company said its new 311,000-square-foot facility has been designed to accommodate up to 1,300 employees, expanding the company’s regional Al and software development capabilities, and driving increased collaboration and innovation across R&D, engineering, and product support functions.
