CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Semiconductor and Advanced Electronics Policy 2024 released by Chief Minister MK Stalin on Monday aims at contributing 40% of India s electronics exports by 2030 and creating a skilled talent pool of two lakh people in this sector by 2030.

Tech companies reportedly fired over 220,000 employees in 2023. It was a jump of 40% from the previous year. And a record too. But take this contrast. Demand for tech talent still outstrips supply. Chipping in with talent The Semicon India Future Skills Talent Committee tasked with finding a way to make India a hub for the manufacture of semiconductors stated that the country needs 1.2 million skilled workers in the semiconductor industry by 2032.

In a recent development in the human resources industry, Reetu Raina, vice president and global head of talent management at Amdocs has stepped down from her position, effective 5 January 2024. Raina joined the organisation in June 2022 to head the talent management function globally from India. She has previously served at Amdocs from August 2012 to March 2018, before she rejoined in 2022.
