The policy said the government will create a Rs 100 crore fund of funds, called the Tamil Nadu Co-Creation Fund, for investing in regional and thematic funds. The fund, to be managed by respective investors and coordinated by StartupTN, is inspired by the Yozma (meaning ‘initiative’) model, established by the Israeli government in the 1990s to kick-start innovative industries by investing in new venture capital funds.

More than 600 startups were registered in the Valley after the launch of the 2018 startup policy. To boost the startup ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir, the administration has drafted a new startup policy, which is expected to be notified within a month, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said.
The fund has provided invaluable support to 27 Indian companies, including notable ventures like ShopKirana, the innovators behind a groundbreaking retail merchandise procurement app, and Captain Fresh, trailblazers in the B2B seafood trading sector. Their investments are broad in scope, encompassing B2B, B2C, Supply Chain, and consumer tech startups operating across both Tier 1 and Tier 2 markets.
India has begun work on an action plan to facilitate investment in the country’s startup sector that is likely to include scaling up of the seven-year-old Startup India initiative. As part of the plan, under discussion, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) is also looking at developing indicators such as investments, number of startups in a sector and employment generation to track performance of startups.
Among such startups is Bengaluru based fintech Converj, looking at converting such payments to card networks through virtual credit cards, which is currently happening through bank payment settlement systems managed by the Reserve Bank of India NEFT and RTGS.
Concerned about the decline in foreign direct investment (FDI) ahead of next years national elections, government officials met with alternative investment funds, startup founders and fund managers last week to identify and iron out operational challenges impeding capital inflows into India, people present in these meetings said.
Yudiz Solutions, a digital transformation and technology services provider, has signed an MoU with India Accelerator, the country s largest startup accelerator, as the preferred technology partner. More than 200 startups are associated with the accelerator s expanding global programmes.
